S.A.L.V.E. International Sponsorship
Costs
Currently, sponsorship costs are just £35 per month for primary education and £40 per month for secondary education. This
is to be paid either yearly or three times a year (1st January, 1st May and 1st September). As you can see, this really isn't
a lot of money to sacrifice to completely turn a child's life around. Sponsoring a child means that you may have to give up
a round of drinks at the pub each week; surely this is not much to ask to give a young child their life back.
Primary Education: This works out as being three instalments of just £140 a year. Or to look at it another way, that's
just £35 a month, £8.75 a week, or £1.25 a day.
Secondary Education: This works out as being three instalments of just £160 a year. Or to look at it another way, that's
just £40 a month, £10 per week, or £1.43 a day.
There is also an initial start-up fee of £80 in addition to the money for sponsorship. This helps to cover some of the
costs of initially getting the child off the street, and goes towards buying them the bigger one-off items that are needed
for their new lives at school.
Please note: If there are any unexpected extra costs whilst you are sponsoring your child - such as medical bills - they
will always be covered by our emergency fund which is provided through additional fundraising.

Important Sponsorship Cost Information
- All prices here are worked out using an exchange rate of
3,300 Ugandan Shillings to the British Pound.
- If exchange rates or prices for any of these individual items should
vary, the charity reserves the right to adjust the costs as following:
* If the costs increase or the exchange rate
becomes worse, the charity will decrease the amount of administration cost to cover the shortfall. If there is a significant
cost increase, so that expenditure exceeds the amount sponsored, the charity will cover the difference using its contingency
fund until such a time as costs re-stabilise. In the event that costs do not re-stabilise, the charity will contact sponsors
before the start of the New Year to adjust sponsorship costs accordingly.

|
| Moses and Ronald are now off the street and are very happy at school. |
* If the costs decrease or exchange rates improve, the charity will increase the amount
of money going towards administration, as the funds currently taken from sponsorship fees for this only cover a small portion
of what is needed.
- When a child first enters our program they must go through an assimilation process to help them
to adjust to life within a home and school environment again. This period is spent living with the Regional Director who ensures
that they receive care and counselling whilst they start to attend day school. The length of time each child needs to adjust
during this period varies dependant on the individual. Whilst the child is in day school, the difference between day school
and boarding school fees will be used to help to cover the house rent, utilities, and maintenance of the S.A.L.V.E. home,
as well as being put towards food and transport costs for the child as needed.
- During some school terms, the child
will need to have some of their things replaced as items wear out. However, during other terms, there may be many things that
do not have to be replaced at all. The charity reserves the right to make decisions on this, so long as they always ensure
that every child has the items that they need. Consequently, this may mean that on some occasions surplus money may go towards
administration costs, whilst at other times less money is put towards this.
- If anyone has any questions about the
sponsorship costs or finances of the charity, please get in contact with us and we will happily answer them for you.
