Fundraising
Assistant: London
We are looking to recruit local (London-based) volunteers
to work with our Fundraising Director in London. This is an exciting post for someone hoping to get experience in the charity
sector, as it will provide excellent hands-on experience for someone looking to take up a role within fundraising. However,
it would also suit someone wishing to help out in their spare time; enthusiasm, initiative and a passion for the charity's
cause are the only pre-requisites.
The successful candidates will help
to deliver a varied fundraising programme which will make an enormous difference to a small charity. Volunteers will work
closely with the charity's Fundraising Director in her work across a range of activities. As a relatively new charity,
S.A.L.V.E. International offers the chance for very real experience, a chance to really make a difference to a growing charity,
and the opportunity for volunteers to bring their own ideas to the table. Currently, S.A.L.V.E. International is aiming to
raise money to build a new house for the children that it supports in Uganda, giving successful candidates the chance to truly
see the results of their fundraising work. You can expect 6-monthly catch-ups, a schedule of support that suits the individual,
as well as a reference for any future role. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated applicants with a can-do attitude who
are not afraid to get stuck in with any sort of work. There will be many duties within the local community, and we expect
the successful volunteers to act as ambassadors for the charity. This position is unpaid and the volunteers will be expected
to finance any expenses they may have.
Possible activities for volunteers
will depend on their skills and interests, but may include the following:
- Street fundraising - shaking a bucket.
- Sponsored activities.
- Media/Press activity.
- Putting on events/volunteering at events.
- Contacting trusts and/or local businesses.
- Any other ideas for fundraising volunteers
may have.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Enthusiastic
- Dedicated
- Can-do attitude and able to
use their own initiative
- Innovative and full of ideas

in learning new skills
- Excellent people skills
- Able to act as
an ambassador for the charity and believes strongly in the work that we are doing
All volunteers will receive a manual and a training day before fundraising commences and ongoing support from the
UK whilst undertaking the volunteering. We also ask that volunteers help us to evaluate their placement so that we can build
on their work and experience for the future.
