September 2022 Newsletter

Back to school

It’s September once again and that means that for many of us the summer holidays are over and it’s the return of packed lunches, homework and the school run.

Now that might not fill that many of us with joy, but in Uganda it definitely does for the children we work with! They are are eagerly looking forward to returning to the classroom. We are very proud that we are supporting 138 children to get an education thanks to the kindness and generosity of our Education sponsors and supporters of our Education Fund. That is 138 children who will have brighter futures, full of possibilities.

One of our amazing sponsors, Lynn, is the founder and MD of Toucan Agency. We are very grateful that Lynn kindly offered the time and skills of her and her production team to make a series of short films for us a few months ago.

Lynn had the chance to meet the child that she supports and to go to school and see the difference her financial support has first hand. A huge thank you to Lynn and her team from all of us.

I thoroughly recommend that you watch Lynn’s video and gain an insight into the impact that access to education has for these incredible young people.

Fundraising for Fifteen

Although we are proud to be supporting so many children through our education support programmes, there are sadly still so many that need our help.

We have been fundraising for 15 weeks to help 15 street connected children from Uganda to go to school. We are trying to raise £5,260 which is the equivalent of sending 15 children to school for one year.

We are really thankful to those incredible supporters who have already helped and donated. Unfortunately, we are still some way off reaching our target of £5,260.

Please help us however you can. Whether this is a one-off donation to help us pay for their fees for now or a monthly donation to invest in children’s education for the future.
You can help make a difference by donating here.
