Recruiting for a Family Business Social Worker

S.A.L.V.E. International is looking to recruit a Family Business Social Worker – could it be you?

Family Business Social Worker: This is a role for someone with the heart and passion to support children who have been living on the streets in Uganda and their families, and who works well with others in a team. They will love supporting and counselling adults in vulnerable situations and be able to deliver high quality training sessions. They will have knowledge about entrepreneurship/ business skills and be able to share them and encourage people to be able to start and run a small business. They should be a person who likes to do their work to a high standard, has excellent time keeping and can keep good records in files and on the computers. They should also enjoy travel/ doing field work.

Qualifications: Please only apply if you are a Ugandan national over 22 years old with either a; social work or development studies or business/ entrepreneurship degree, experience working with families in vulnerable situations, fluency in English/ Luganda/ Lusoga, excellent computer knowledge and skills, as well as a passion for the work we do.

S.A.L.V.E. International stands for Support and Love Via Education International.

S.A.L.V.E. exists to give love and opportunities via education to children and the families of children living on the streets of Jinja, Uganda. We aim to see children leave the streets and return to a stable family home and education to help them to become happy, self-sustaining, responsible adults.

We achieve this through; Drug Rehabilitation, Street Outreach work and Home Resettlement, counselling and rehabilitation, Educational Support, Community and Family Education and Business Empowerment, fundraising and awareness raising.

We are based in Jinja city, within Jinja district. This role is based at our head offices in Namulesa.
