Recruiting for a Female Social Work Volunteer

S.A.L.V.E. International is looking to recruit a Family Resettlement Volunteer – could it be you?

Family Resettlement Social Work Volunteer (Female): This is a role for someone with the heart and passion to support children who have been living on the streets in Uganda and their families. We would like a candidate who is hardworking, proactive and works well with others in a team. They should be a person who loves supporting and counselling children from difficult backgrounds. They should be able to deliver high quality group counselling and education sessions to children of different ages. They should like travelling as the role involves taking children back to their families and doing follow up visits. They should be a person who likes to do their work to a high standard, has excellent time keeping and can keep good records in files and on the computers.

Qualifications/ Skills: Please only apply if you are a female Ugandan national, over 24 years old, with a social work or development studies qualification, excellent computer knowledge and skills, as well as a passion for the work we do.

Languages: We need someone who can speak English as well as Luganda or Lusoga, and some Kiswahili would also be of help.

S.A.L.V.E. International stands for Support and Love Via Education International.

S.A.L.V.E. exists to give love and opportunities via education to children and the families of children living on the streets of Jinja, Uganda. We aim to see children leave the streets and return to a stable family home and education to help them to become happy, self-sustaining, responsible adults.

We achieve this through; Drug Rehabilitation, Street Outreach work and Home Resettlement, counselling and rehabilitation, Educational Support, Community and Family Education and Business Empowerment, fundraising and awareness raising.

We are based in Jinja city, within Jinja district. This role is based at our head offices in Namulesa.
