S.A.L.V.E. International is looking to recruit a team of volunteers to join our summer research projects – could you be one of them?

Assistant Project Leader:

Your role is to support a mixed group of volunteers undertaking community research, social enterprise research and running a holiday camp for children to learn life skills. You should be a creative person who is able to support all of the volunteers to do this to the best of their ability. This could mean; helping to plan and organise activities, using your knowledge of the area to help the volunteers improve their work, and offering extra support to the volunteer team to work well as a together and overcome any challenges or conflicts arising.

Community Research Volunteer (7):

You will work with the S.A.L.V.E. team to carry out a community research project. This will involve planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the project in a timely and quality manner. At the end of the project, you will feedback the results, either in a community event, or to a panel. As well as research in the community, you will help to run a Holiday Camp involving educational activities for young people.

The deadline for Assistant Project Leader volunteer is 19th June 2018. You would be invited to interview if your application is shortlisted.

The deadline for Community Research Volunteers is 25th June. If your application is shortlisted, you are required to attend a selection day on 2nd July.

It is possible to apply for both roles if you wish to, as long as you apply before 19th June and make this clear in your cover letter.

Please only apply if you are a Ugandan national over 21 years old, based in Jinja, with excellent computer knowledge and skills, as well as a passion for the work we do. You should have good time keeping skills.

Please note: You will be working 5 days a week, including occasional days at the weekend.

You will need to be available for 2 induction days before the project begins on 11th and 18th July.

– All volunteers will also help run a holiday camp for the children.

– Your expenses will be covered for the month as well as receiving lunch and travel money if going to the field.
